Privacy Policy
Chappy labs (hereinafter referred to as "we," "us," or "our") operates the CHAPPY mobile application (hereinafter referred to as the "App" or "Service"). We are committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and processed in connection with your use of our Service.
1. Information Collection and Purposes
Our App does not have any user registration or account creation features. We do not directly collect, store, or manage any of your personally identifiable information on developer-controlled servers. However, to provide a stable service, optimize the user experience, and sustain the app through advertisements, we integrate third-party services. These services may automatically collect and transmit certain metadata:
- Advertisement (Google AdMob)
- Collected Data: Mobile Advertising Identifiers (such as Apple's IDFA on iOS and Google's Advertising ID/AdID on Android), device metadata, IP address (the full IP address is shared with buyers on ad requests, excluding partner bidding ad units), and service usage logs.
- Purpose: Displaying contextually relevant and personalized ads, controlling ad frequency (frequency capping), and preventing advertising fraud.
- Analytics and Monitoring (Firebase - Google Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config)
- Collected Data: Device model, operating system (OS) version, app interaction logs (screen visits, button clicks), and crash logs.
- Purpose: Identifying the root cause of app crashes, measuring app performance, analyzing user engagement, and managing dynamic app configurations.
- App Integrity and Security (Apple App Attest & Google Play Integrity API)
- Collected Data: Hardware attributes, OS integrity status, app package metadata, and encrypted device tokens required by security APIs.
- Purpose: Detecting unauthorized modifications, emulator usage, or automated bot activities; preventing abuse; and securing backend API communications.
- Generative AI Features & Media Access (Firebase Vertex AI / Gemini API)
- Collected Data: User-provided prompts (including text inputs) and image files captured via camera or selected from the device photo gallery.
- Purpose: Processing your queries by sending them to Google's generative AI models (Gemini) and returning the generated explanation or solution.
- Camera and Gallery Access: The App requires access to your device's Camera and Photo Gallery so that you can photograph or upload questions. This media is processed locally on-device and transmitted directly to the generative AI API; it is never stored on our servers.
- Important Notice (No Server Storage): AI prompts and media are transmitted directly from your device to Google's API endpoints via the Firebase AI SDK. There is no middle-tier server operated by the developer in this flow. We do not store, intercept, or use your prompts or media for any other purpose.
2. Data Retention and Deletion
Since we do not collect or store user accounts or prompt histories on any developer-owned servers, we do not retain your personal data. Telemetry and logs processed by our integrated partners (such as Google AdMob, Firebase, Apple App Attest, and Google Play Integrity) are stored and purged in accordance with their respective privacy policies. You can choose to cease or clear this data collection at any time by configuring your mobile device settings or by deleting the App.
3. Third-Party Sharing and Disclosures
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. To deliver our core capabilities (AI features, advertisements, and security verifications), we integrate SDKs from trusted, global platform providers. Their data processing practices are governed by their own policies:
- Google LLC / Firebase (Alphabet Inc.)
- Services Provided: Advertising (AdMob), Generative AI (Gemini via Firebase AI), App Analytics/Crash Monitoring (Firebase SDKs), and Android Integrity (Google Play Integrity API).
- Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Apple Inc.
- Services Provided: iOS Device and App Authenticity Verification (DeviceCheck / App Attest API).
- Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/privacy/
4. User Rights and Choices
You have full control over the telemetry and advertising identifiers collected by third-party SDKs on your mobile device:
- Opting Out of Advertising Identifiers:
- Android: Settings > Privacy > Ads > Reset or Delete Advertising ID
- iOS: Settings > Privacy > Tracking > Toggle off "Allow Apps to Request to Track"
- Opting Out of Analytics: You can prevent analytical tracking by toggling your system-level tracking permissions or uninstalling the App.
5. Security
We prioritize your trust. Since we do not run a custom backend server to process or store your prompts, your input goes directly to Google's highly secure infrastructure. However, please remember that no transmission method over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
